34rest is envisioned as a site dedicated to ecology, a place where the author shares blog posts, news, and positive stories about protecting the planet in these turbulent times. Its purpose is to highlight hopeful developments, thoughtful ideas, and inspiring examples that may encourage others to care more deeply for nature.
The name 34rest was chosen partly because it is short, but also because it carries several meanings. It can be read as "tree for rest" or "tree forest", inviting people to reflect on the relationship between a single tree and an entire forest. A forest is made of trees, and saving even one tree can, in time, help preserve or inspire many more.
It also has a philosophical meaning. Sometimes we become so focused on small details that we fail to see the wider forest. At other times, we look so broadly that we forget the forest is made up of many different trees, each with its own value and place. In some sense, each of us is like a tree, unique in our own way, and together, for better or worse, we form one great forest.
For me, trees have always meant shelter, relief, and rest for human beings. When we grow tired of work and noise, we often seek refuge in nature. This site was created to share stories in that spirit. The hope is that, after a long break, this purpose will continue and that a community will grow around a simple goal: spreading a lasting and infectious love for nature.
